Alongside a complete urine analysis, we specifically examine leukocytes and bacteria in urine cultures. The urine culture test allows us to identify organisms present in the urine that cause infections, enabling accurate diagnosis.

We also use urine culture tests in the investigation of stone diseases and request them prior to certain surgical procedures, such as cystoscopy and ureteroscopy.

Urine culture is a method we apply more frequently in our female patients. Due to the shorter length of the urethra and its proximity to the anus, bacterial growth is more common and faster in women. With urine culture, infections, in particular, can be detected more rapidly.
