Treatment of Bladder Cancer
In our country, approximately 10,000 men and around 3,000 women are diagnosed with bladder cancer each year. We offer up-to-date diagnosis and treatment methods against bladder cancer…
Bladder cancer is the most commonly seen cancer of the urinary tract. About 90-95% of bladder cancers are of the type called “urothelial carcinoma.” The bladder wall is composed of layers including the mucosa, the submucosa (the tissue layer beneath the mucosa), muscle tissue, and surrounding fatty tissue. The mucosa (urothelium) in contact with urine is the first layer where cancer develops. As the cancer grows, it progresses both into the bladder and deeper through the layers of the bladder wall. The treatment of bladder cancer is generally applied based on the stages: whether the cancer has not invaded the muscle tissue, has invaded the muscle tissue, or has spread to surrounding organs and other distant organs.
It is crucial to know the symptoms of bladder cancer and not to neglect them, as early diagnosis and treatment can prevent serious and irreversible complications.
Bladder cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men, but it also occurs in both men and women, presenting a more aggressive course in women.
